Stefán Karl as Count Mathew Shabelskii “Ivanov”

as one of his school graduation projects along side “Crows Palace” and “God exists… and love” first one being 1998′s “Ivanov” where he played as Count Shabelskii  ,”A count and the maternal uncle of Ivanov. He was once someone rich and semi-powerful, but now he is not much in the way of anything. He is a grieving old man, still shaken by his wife’s death and the reality that he now lives in. He is broken and very sad, but he covers it up by being cruel, yet comical around others. “I’m always running myself down. Who am I? I used to be rich, free, and rather happy, but now…I’m a parasite, a hang on, an irresponsible buffoon…..”

Movie about the South Sudan shipwreck ,produced by Stefán Karl 25.6.2006

(PART 1)

A film about the shipwreck of the South Iceland cargo ship in the seas between Iceland and Norway on Christmas night 1986 is being produced in Hollywood. The main producer is Stefán Karl Stefánsson, an actor who has been passionate about the accident and its aftermath for years. He hopes that the film will be premiere after half a year. A production agreement has been signed with companies that produced, among other things, made movies like “Catch Me If You Can” with Tom Hanks and “I, Robot” with Will Smith. Hyde Park International will handle the sale and distribution of the film globally.

Some assists I grabbed from the wayback machine that I thought were interesting, and a Error page for the 2012 rendition of the site.

Stefán Karl in a car commercial

There aren’t any footage of this anywhere or photos for that matter but I do know that it happened in 2001, they’re just not any recordings of this that I know of but I did manage to find a forum post talking about said commercial,it’s not much but it’s something.

1. Nissan Almera A

“Icelandic Jim Carrey”…or Stefán Karl Stefánsson goes with his family in a tour around the country. The kid is having ice cream, the lady is applying makeup. He starts driving off at high speeds, He gets out of the Whale Bay tunnel at the same time as he goes inside. But when they came back to the same place as when they started, Stefán looks at the boy, the ice cream is all over his face,he laughs this beautiful laughter .. looks at the woman .. the makeup is covering her whole face. She yells and screams. He runs out of the car and gets into a car trunk and goes back into the car .. presumably to clean the family. - This is a really great advertisement, the main character is Stefán, because he is so funny.

2. Nissan Almera A

Same ad,…..well almost, with the same actor and the same car. He is cleaning the car, but when he goes into the car, turns up his FM on the bottom, with a lollipop in his mouth and it ends up being really loud. So he almost swallowed the whole lollipop .. But she walks past. He walks outside the car, manually takes it out and looks at her, wondering why she did not come to help him. After a short while, he returns to the car in the same position. - Not as funny as the first but still.

“Enter the guest of honour! Actor Stefán Karl Stefánsson is famous worldwide for his role as Robbie Rotten in the children’s series LazyTown, a show that promotes children’s understanding of the importance and benefits of a healthy lifestyle. It looks like Robbie Rotten got the better of Stefán Karl this time and is trying to steal the Torch!”

“Stefán Karl and Dagur lead the kids and the Peace Runners on one last victory lap for the Peace Run in Iceland this year”

“Stefán Karl and Dagur are obviously very relaxed and happy to be around kids. These two children, who had never met either of them before, spontaneously came and sat on their lap”

“The Peace Run ceremonies are evidently entertaining…”

“…and moving”

“Stefán Karl gave a very moving speech. As a child he was bullied and it wasn’t until he started speaking about it to the other children that they realized how much they were hurting him. As an adult, he founded Rainbow Children, a foundation that promotes anti-bulllying and children’s understanding of harmony, tolerance and understanding in the community”
