Stefán Karl in “Independent People”

On April 1, 2012

The original episode was broadcasted back in 2012 but has re-broadcasted recently on August of 2018, here’s an uploading of the full episode taken from Visir.

It is safe to say that Stefán Karl Stefánsson is an actor that has touched the hearts of the nation in recent years. Stefán Karl passed away on Monday, while the 43-year-old had fought with bile duct cancer for two years.

Stefán Karl Stefánsson was probably the only Icelandic actor who most of the world’s people knew in sight and still recognized. Millions of people across the globe grew up shouting at him through the television screen, so right to let him know that it was about the latest mystery of Robbie Rotten.

Stefán played in numerous Icelandic works and fascinated the nation with his personality over the past two decades.

On April 1, 2012, Stefán Karl was invited to the episode “Sjálfstætt fólk á Stöð 2”, where Jon Ársæll Þórðarson talked to Stefán about life and drama.

Together they went to a visit to the Lazytown headquarters, a visit to the mother of Stefán and interacted with Hafnarfjörður harbor.

Stefán discussed the time in Lazytown and when he landed a big role as the grinch in the musical about how this protagonist The Grinch stole Christmas in a musical that was set up in Los Angeles.

Stefán was bullied during childhood and opened up to Jón Ársæl. Stebbi was a learned pilot and a great deal for aircraft. The bullying formed Stefán Karl and thought he could reduce bullying in society.

“I really like people who find out,” said Stefán, in conversation with Jon, who describes the man Stefán Karl was.

Roughly translated from an article that posted about the re-broadcasting.

Stefán Karl in Spamalot

“Monty Python’s Spamalot is a musical comedy adapted from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Like the motion picture, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend, but it differs from the film in many ways. The original 2005 Broadway production, directed by Mike Nichols, received 14 Tony Awards nominations, winning in three categories, including Best Musical. During its initial run of 1,575 performances, it was seen by more than two million people and grossed over $175 million.” from the Wiki

After the show

Stefán Karl in  “Titch and Ted do Maths”

“Meet Titch, a smart, sparky six-year-old, and her uncle Ted.
Over the course of 3 x 30’ episodes, they’ll talk their way into three new jobs - at a restaurant, the seaside, and Mr Pie’s house. While there, they’ll also learn about Measurement, Fractions and Geometry.”

Episode one “Measuring”

“This live action comedy series introduces odd couple Titch and Ted. Perennially fired and always on the lookout for work, their next three jobs will unwittingly teach them about Measurement, Fractions and Geometry.”

Episode two “Fractions”

“Titch and Ted do Maths” was directed by John Hopkins for BBC from 2015, the show doesn’t run that much anymore if at all but the episodes were uploaded by the BBC YouTube channel except they seem to be private for UK users only but times it can be viewable internationally ,although the full 30 minute episodes were uploaded by John Hopkins on Vimeo ,on TV they’re split into parts possibly to run during commercials.

Episode 3 “Geometry”

Full Movie with subtitles Stefán appears at 45 minutes

I do want to give warnings first ,this isn’t the most family friendly thing that he was in so it has adult themes like partial nudity (if you do watch the full movie that is) ,drug/alcohol use, toilet humor, vulgar humor and physical violence it’s not the worst thing out there but it’s good to keep in mind if any of these things make you uncomfortable.

Movie’s theme with the crew

A theme has been made for the movie with the main characters of the movie, Stefán being one of them of course, here’s the music video there.

DVD Extras with mainly Stefán in them, without subtitles

There were only 2 extras in the DVDs one is a scene from the movie with extra scenes cut out from it which doesn’t have him in it,second which is this one has a lot of the behind the scenes with him and the other actors.

Stefán Karl with Stuðmenn Master Post

Stuðmenn are an Icelandic rock band founded in 1970
at the Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð (a school)

“A song Stefan Karl wrote with Stuðmenn keyboard player Jakob Frímann Magnússon.”
- from LazyTown Point

A song from the album “Með allt á hreinu” which was a tribute to a film with the same name which was has an album that was written and preformed by  Stuðmenn also with the same name ,This version of the album was preformed by “Land & Synir” featuring Stefán Karl.

“CL: Do you have any plans to work with “Stuðmenn” again?

SK: Oh, with Stuðmenn! No, no plans of working more with Stuðmenn. There was one great summer with Stuðmenn. Ya know, they’ve been around for 30 years. And it was an honour to work with them. They are veterans - they’re institution in Icelandic pop music. So, ya know, standing next to Egill, who is the main singer, and Jakob, and those fantastic musicians - all of them - was just an honour, and ya know, a great way to spend my extra time when I was shooting LazyTown in Iceland, ya know. Alone, without my family waiting there - “What to do tonight? Oh, I go and play with Stuðmenn!” - So, it was great. I actually did write a song with them called “Reykjavík” - yeah, I wrote that song with Jakob, the keyboard player. And it’s actually to be found on the internet somewhere. It’s called “Reykjavík” - Stuðmenn and Stefán Karl - You can go on www.tonlist.is
