Emerson José - Stefán How did the opportunity come to participate in LazyTown?
Stefán - Magnús Scheving (The creator of the series) approached me in London when we met at a party and then we flew together on the day following the return to Iceland ,where Magnús told me all about the idea of filming: LazyTown. That same year, we did a theatrical production of the show at the National Theater in Iceland. The show lasted for two years (almost 100 shows) from that point ,we developed the TV show and the rest is history.
Emerson José - How is to work with Magnús Scheving and where has it gone?
Stefán - It was great working with Magnús, a very energetic person, who would not take no for an answer. Magnús is still working on LazyTown managing his brand and company.
Emerson José - And Julianna Rose Mauriello?
Stefán - Julianna is an angel! Very much missed! She is now in collage and is doing very well. I do not know if she will act again, but I have heard that she is doing very well, I also want to mention her mother Khalua who was, and is, an incredible woman and supported her daughter through 100% in this very difficult job.
Emerson José - What is the biggest difficulty playing as the villain Robbie Rotten?
Stefán - The best thing about Robbie is that he gave me space to express my talent as a physical comedian .I love the works of silent movies, stars like:Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd, both were my inspirations! And I loved doing it. The thing hard about Robbie was the day long, the make-up and after almost 60 episodes the thing most difficult it was to say goodbye to my good friends in the studio . But we can come together for a new season soon.
Emerson José - Leave a message to the fans in Brazil and it is clear (the card): Bubu and Dudu.
Stefán - I’m very proud of my work at LazyTown. One of the things that makes me so happy with all this experience is that so many different countries can see this, especially in Latin America. I’ve never been to Brazil, but I can not wait to meet you. I just want to thank these beautiful kids who are Dudu and Bubu (budubudu.blogspot.com) especially for being real fans and to them I send you all my best wishes. Just remember that although Robbie is the bad guy , he, deep down has a good heart.
Emerson José - What are you doing these days?
Stefán - I’ve been working as an actor. At the moment I’m doing: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” a Broadway musical that runs through North America.I do the Grinch. You can also check out my filmography at www.imdb.com
